Helsinki Design Week
Helsinki Design Week is a 10-day event starting in the second week of September and presents over two hundred events related to the field of design. The programme includes a variety of happenings throughout the city of Helsinki ranging from exhibitions to design markets, fashion shows, galas, hackathons, installations, design talks, workshops, seminars and lectures, pop-up and children's events as well as new design concepts.
One of the very successful concepts by Helsinki Design Week is the Design Diplomacy discussion series. Helsinki-based ambassadors residences open their doors to the public and registered participants gain the unique opportunity to explore the interior and architecture of the apartments. In addition, the events invite to a ludic Q&A card game session with a designer from each country meeting a corresponding Finnish design professional.
