The Viking exhibition at the National Museum of Denmark was one the biggest cultural events in recent years. The exhibition took place inside the museum with interactive multimedia shows, and performance of outfitted and equipped actors entertaining with tactics of viking warfare and simulated fights. Outside the museum many tents were set up introducing to viking craftsmanship with makers of jewellery, pottery, crochet, ale brewing and much more. In a Copenhagen canal nearby viking boats were exhibited and accessible for the public. Visitors got a good chance of learning much about Nordic cultural heritage and the vikings way of living. The exhibition format moved further from Copenhagen to British Museum in London, and to the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte in Berlin.
