Futuro art of living

In the sixties considered the home of the future. The material used for the Futuro house was mainly polyester plastic and as far it concerned the design minimalism ruled. The kitchen was kept simple with a grill only, and the living room supposed to work as well as the sleeping room.

Dome of Visions Copenhagen

The first Dome of Visions by architects Benny Jepsen and Kristoffer Tejlgaard build next to the Royal Danish Library. This geodesic dome was built to promote new ideas in construction and urban thinking as well as a consideration for a sustainable society of the future. Dome of Visions was used as an event centre for cultural events and open meeting place for the public. The temporary building was put down at the end of 2015. Currently, new geodesic domes are constructed for a period of time in collaboration with NCC and introduced to citizens all over the Nordic countries e.g. Aarhus, Stockholm, Visby and Helsinki.

Classic Danish interiors

One of the very successful concepts by Helsinki Design Week is the Design Diplomacy discussion series. Helsinki-based ambassadors residences open their doors to the public and registered participants gain the unique opportunity to explore the interior and architecture of the apartments. In addition, the events invite to a ludic Q&A card game session with a designer from each country meeting a corresponding Finnish design professional. This image is taken in the Danish residence in one of the many cosy meeting rooms fitted with classic Danish interiors.

A scene in a living room

Latest once the audience got to the scene in the living room of the Forester family it became apparent that Janáček’s original is not the tale of a forest animal. Vixen is a modern play about a homeless young girl looking for shelter in the Greater London area. All around the living room spectators were seated on sofas, chairs or on the floor within the theatrical setting. Equipped with headphones they follow the emerging singer's dramatic dialogues sang in tenor and soprano while listening to the musical score.
